CSUSM Dean of Students Social Media Posts
For the Spring 2021 semester, I collaborated with the Dean of Student’s Office team in order to create several Instagram-ready social media graphics.
Most of the posts were often needed in order to promote affiliated events and talks available to students.
With this, I explored each “theme” of the event and correlated my designs accordingly. Eye-catching visuals with compellling compositions was key to increasing the account’s engagement.
It was also important to maintain a consistent style for the DOS Office’s accounts and align it with the university’s brand guidelines, especially for more formal themed posts.
Before I designed each graphic, I recieved a brief description from the Dean of Students team as well as the description copy in order to most accurately match my work to their intended purpose.
For event-focused works, creating intrigue and excitement through my visuals was extremely important as well as a fun experience. I often made hand-drawn sketches to plan visual elements.
All designs were created within Adobe Illustrator, often incorporating manipulated imagery from Photoshop as well.
